Great Exhibition of the North is a free, summer-long celebration of the North of England’s pioneering spirit. The country’s biggest event in 2018, it will pack a programme of amazing exhibits, live performances, displays of innovation, new artworks and unforgettable experiences into 80 days.

Durham’s loudest festival is back – with brilliant bands and outstanding musicians heading to the county for a ten-day celebration of all things brass. The 2018 programme will feature a celebration of women and brass, brass at the cutting edge using live looping technology and a premiere of a new suite inspired by Quentin Blake’s magnificent illustrations for Roald Dahl’s BFG.
